Baby Gowns

About 2 years ago or so...I found a tutorial on a blog that used t-shirts to make baby gowns. What a brilliant idea! So my girls and I grabbed all the "old" t-shirts we could find and went to work. We made quite a few gowns to donate to the local Newborns in Need chapter.

Here are pics of what we made

They are so easy to make.
Head over to  This Momma Makes Stuff and check out her great tutorial. Make a few extra to help a baby in need. It's a win -win. You upcycle, recycle, help a little baby in need. No one loses!

have scraps from tees? Make these cute bracelets from Lilblueboo ! See - another upcycle, recycle win!

If you make these great gowns or bracelets, share and let me know. I would love to see them.

Capturing my creativity

Taking the e courses has really gotten my creativity flowing again. I realized I NEED to spend time in the studio.
I brought out a few unfinished quilts and started working on them again. I also set out my scrapbook and decided to take a page a day or so. Baby steps. I just need to do a little at a time.
Here are some of the quilt pieces.
My not so wonky blocks in blue - I have 6 - 14 inch blocks done. I need maybe 3 more? I have not decided. It is a WIP that has been going on for about a year.

Another Year Long WIP. It is a quilt I started for Layla - I MUST finish this before that child turns 18! I have enough of the blocks on the right done. I am designing and cutting the blocks on the left.

Because I can not have actually finish any projects without starting a new one! Geesh - Fabrics for a new quilt. Yes, I know  - I have issues. Yes - that is a chocolate cupcake in the upper left hand corner. My Em made them and they are delish!
What are you creating today?

eclasses and inspiration

Over the past few weeks I have been taking a few different classes online.
One is from Jeanne Oliver called Creatively Made. It is a wonderful exploration of the world of mixed media. I adore fold art and I love Mixed Media even more! I put my artistic side away many years ago and realized I need to get it back. I strongly suggest you take a look at the course. You will fall in love!

Speaking of LOVE....

I am also taking a Spark Event from Margie Romney-Aslett called LOVE LOVE LOVE

This class has been a fantastic 3 day class. I am geared and ready for my favorite Holiday! Valentine's Day!!!

I have made my garlands and am decorating my fireplace.

I have made 2 different Love outfits for my Keefer Girls.

I am so excited, I have even started some special gifts for friends and family. Did I mention I LOVE Valentine's Day?

Gift Tag

I was playing around and wanted a unique gift tag for a special gift.

I love how it turned out. I would do things different now but that is part of creating.

I used the Big Shots Top Note to cut out the shape, painted the edges, it is hard to see but I used a chocolate brown flower stamp to stamp the background. I added a scrap of fabric in the middle. I put it on so the edges stuck up a bit. I cut out 3 smaller tags for the "Just For You".
I also added a Yo Yo Flower and a bead.  It is attached to a brown lunch bag that holds some yummy goodies for Big C's teacher.

E's journal

This is a journal I made for my Emily.  I call her my Angel and I love religious icons. The inside cover has a picture St Elizabeth who is he patron saint of bakers. Since my angel loves to bake I thought it was appropriate.

Not a great picture, the light is giving a weird glare.

Sparking my creativity

I have always loved art and to "Craft". I realized in the past few months my creativity has disappeared, completely gone. I own a screenprinting and embroidery company. I have to use creativity to make my business stand out from all the others. But it was just gone. As I was Pinterest I stumbled upon Christy Tomlinson's blog, then I found Jeanne Oliver's workshop and decided to jump in.

Week one of Creatively made has been wonderful! I will share my pictures on here and hopefully get my creative juices flowing again!!

Here are some journals from week one of the Creatively Made workshop.
My altered journal - simple, but I really love it.

An altered journal for my Lulu
